Ravi Bains responds to APPG on Social Care report

Following the APPG on Social Care publishing a report which is calling for enhanced training and qualifications for ‘under-valued, exploited and degraded’ care workers, Ravi Bains shares his thoughts on the APPG’s inquiry:

“I welcome the APPG’s report into professionalising the social care workforce.

“I am often humbled by the hard work, dedication and perseverance of those working in social care and the report is correct in calling for more recognition and reward.

“Major reform is needed of the sector, but what we need immediately is sufficient funding to ensure that social care does more than just ‘stay afloat’.

“I hope the government responds appropriately to the report.”
