Minister for Care Caroline Dinenage has announced the launch of the next phase of the government’s adult social care recruitment campaign, Every Day is Different.
The next phase will run from autumn 2019 to April 2020, with the Department of Health & Social Care calling for support from across the adult social care sector to share success stories.
Here, Ravi responds to the next stage of the recruitment drive:
“I have experienced first-hand the challenges of recruitment in the sector and it is deeply reassuring to see the government’s recruitment campaign thrive. It is vital we encourage and inform the next generation of carers to commit to a rewarding career in care as they are the future of the sector.
“It is no secret to any employer that a strong and happy workforce has benefits which are far reaching, most importantly for the people we support.
“There are many career opportunities for people working in home care, and social care more broadly, and I’m glad this campaign seeks to highlight this. There is real opportunity for this campaign to ensure that our care workforce is truly reflective of wider society. It only then that we can deliver truly person-centred care.”
