Following the Conservative Party publishing its manifesto over the weekend, a key announcement has been the party’s commitment to social care, in which it pledged £1bn of funding for the struggling sector over the next five years.
Commenting the Conservatives’ manifesto announcement, Ravi Bains, Chief Executive of leading homecare provider Grosvenor Health & Social Care said:
“I’m pleased to see the Conservatives committing £1bn per year for social care funding over the next five years. This is a positive step forward which gives short-term certainty for a struggling sector.
“ I hope to see other parties put political differences aside and come together to form a cross-party solution which ensures no one has to sell their home to pay for the care they receive.
“Only a cross-party solution will fix social care, once and for all.”
